There was a different kind of energy at Bowman Gray Stadium this past weekend.
Instead of the roar of race cars filling the track, country music took center stage as Trace Adkins brought his 30th Anniversary Tour to Winston-Salem. The concert gave the community a chance to experience one of the city’s most historic venues in a whole new way, with the stage set up right in the middle of Bowman Gray’s famous quarter-mile track.
JKS Incorporated was proud to play a small role in bringing the experience to life, as our team produced the banners that hung on the concert stage. For this project we used our standard 70/30 blow-thru mesh banner material that is designed to allow air to pass through while still providing a strong, visible graphic. Each banner was finished with webbing and reinforced grommets for added strength and durability when securing the banners to the stage structure.
And while the banners are what we’re here to highlight, the setting made this project especially fun for us. Bowman Gray has been a cornerstone of Winston-Salem’s motorsports history for generations, and it had been a long time since the stadium had hosted a major concert (42 years, in fact). Seeing the track transformed from a race venue into a concert setting, with thousands of people gathered to enjoy live music, was a pretty cool moment for the city.
We love watching Bowman Gray Stadium continue to find new ways to bring people together and we’re glad to have our banners be a part of this latest experience.
